The total capacity of deposits is approximately 300 million tons. The company is presently producing at 7 million tones per annum. The mines, when exploited, give a very high grade of Iron Ore having Fe content of 63%-66%, which is one of the best quality materials available in the country.

The mining division has its Iron Ore mines in three different locations in Bellary district of Karnataka, India.

• Swami Malai Iron Ore Mine (SIOM), Dharmapur, Sandur : SIOM has deposits of 150 million tons of high grade Iron Ore - (62 to 65 fe) and the production at SIOM is at the rate of 5 MMT per annum.
• Thimmanpaana Gudi Iron Mine (TIOM), Muraripura,Thimmapanagudi, Sandur : TIOM has deposits of 60 million tons of second grade Iron Ore - (58 to 62 fe) and the production at TIOM is at the rate of 1.5 MMT per annum.
• Navalathi Iron Ore Mine (NIOM), Donimalai, Sandur : NIOM has deposits of 40 -50 million tons of high grade Iron Ore - (63 to 66 fe) and the production at NIOM is at the rate of 1 MMT per annum.
