  • Founded by Shri. H.G. Rangan Goud in 1953 who ranks among the greatest visionaries of the Indian Mining industry. Gifted with the most extraordinary imagination and prescience, he laid the foundation for HRG Group, contributed to its consolidation, and cemented his name as one of the forefathers in the Indian Mining Domain.
  • Initially the group started with traditional mining in Navlutti Iron Ore Mines (NIOM) situated near Donimalai, Sandur Taluk, in a 40 hectare Mining land.
  • With the guidance of Shri. H.G. Rangan Goud, and along with the support and involvement of his two sons Shri HR Gaviappa ( Ex MLA Hospet Taluk) and Shri HR Ajay Kumar the group acquired two more mines in 1990. The two being Thimmappanagudi Iron Ore mines (36 hectares) in MurariPura, near Thimmappanagudi, Sandur taluk and Swamimalai Iron Ore Mine ( 64 hectares ) situated in Dharmapur , Sandur taluk.
  • A major breakthrough came in for the group in 2001, when the govt. of India granted them a licence to export through private channels. The company successfully converted a considerable amount of production towards exports and chartered towards the apex of success. The group now aspires to export 10 million tonnes by 2015.
  • Such was the commitment of the founder Shri. H.G. Rangan Goud and the management at the HRG Group that, with their efforts, a humble mining operation could witness a 5 million ton production in 2007- 08.
  • Today, the group is driven under the guidance of Mr.Gurudatt, the youngest and the most dynamic high flier of the HRG Group; and has exponentially transformed the stance of the company and its clients. Mr.Gurudatt has brought in the concept of Sustainable growth for the organization and believes in job value creation, revival of Environment, Social upliftment of people, basic education and much more by utilizing natural resources for the benefit of the nation.)
  • The group is expanding with the HRG Steels and Alloys Plant, which is already commissioned and is under development in a 100 Acres lands near Koppal, India. The vision is to have a complete integrated steel plant by 2015. HRG also has ventured into power generation and its HRG Wind Power Station will be commissioned by the year 2011. The other ventures of development are Shipping, Port Building, Hospitality and Healthcare, Hotels and Resorts.
  • In entirely, with a sense of responsibility towards the society and environment, HRG group is striving to provide quality products from iron ore, manganese to power steel and alloys and in recognition to this has earned several laurels for providing quality products and delivering value added services to its customers.
